About Me:

I am one of you.  I am a married mum of two teenage children and I work in a fairly mundane job, but I have been a life-long fan of Michael's. His music provided the soundtrack to my life.  Through my school years my friends and I would swap pictures and albums/cassettes and try to 'out dance' one another.  I clearly remember staying up late to watch the first showing of 'Thriller' on MTV. It was Michael's music that encouraged me to 'shake what my momma gave me' to "Can u feel it?" and "Billy Jean" as well as experiencing for the first time the magic of dance.  That feeling has stayed with me all my life, as did my love and admiration for Michael.

I have not experienced the thrill of seeing him in concert.   The nearest I have ever got to Michael was when he came to speak at the Oxford Union, and only then it was just a glimpse of his face through the crowd that I had to make do with! However, I lived for every album or song he released and the tingle I would experience every time one of his songs would be played in a nightclub, so I could get up and 'strutt my stuff'.  I cried with anger and frustration through much of 2005, and was one of the first online in early 2009 to purchase a ticket to the O2 concerts ( I couldn't believe  that he would be here in the UK for months on end!).

So,on the 25th June, my world shattered into a million pieces!  With no close family or friends who were fans of Michael's, it was to the forums I turned for solace and answers.  I was so saddened to find so many others like myself, struggling with their grief bourne out of the sheer frustration and anger over the way Michael passed away and the length of time it is taking to get any real answers.

I wanted to do something, but what? It was after a long evening with an old friend that she suggested that one of the best ways to deal with grief is to put your feelings on paper.  That got me to thinking....If it could help me, then why don't I get others doing it, along with telling the world about their 'Histories' as Michael Jackson fans and putting it all into a book! After all, there are plenty of books about Michael, but none about us,the fans - the people who have been there through thick and thin, the good times and the very bad!!

This is where you guys come in....  I need your 'stories' as Michael Jackson fans (happy or sad).
